Residenssi on osa Todellisuuden tutkimuskeskuksen (TTK) pääohjelmistoa vuosina 2022-2023.

Todellisuuden tutkimuskeskus maksaa taiteilijalle kahden viikon palkan, 1500 euroa.

Dear Artist, are you dreaming about an impossible performance?

WHAT?

The Residency Program for Impossible Performance invites applications from artists with a utopian agenda who work in performing arts in Finland and who have dreams that haven’t come true yet.
The program is part of the main program of the Reality Research Center (RRC) in 2022-2023.
The main partner is the ANTI Festival (ANTI) in Kuopio, Finland. One working group (1-2 persons) will be selected through an open application process. The residency is divided into two years and it takes place in Kuopio. In 2022 the working group is working on a residency period in Kuopio for two weeks. In 2023 The artists will produce an “impossible” performance for the ANTI Festival.

The selected working group of 1-2 people is offered payment for their work in 2022 and accommodation during the residency. The work in Kuopio can include planning, networking and training. The work must include some sort of part that is visible to the audience. It can be for example a workshop, a demo or an artist meeting. The final performance is released in the main program of RRC in 2023, in collaboration with ANTI festival. During both years the working group evaluates the artistic research and results of the project, and delivers a report for the organizers by the end of November. The report or it’s public version will be released in RRC’s blog.

Previous performances in the residency program: Mimosa Norja, Dear Deer (2019), Samuli Laine, Nurture (2020), Emelie Zilliacus ja Martin Paul, Exhibit (2021).

Reality Research Center, founded in 2001 and based in Helsinki Finland, is a collective of artists engaged in performative adventures. Our shared aspiration is to observe, question, and renew reality by creating performances. Many of them have been considered “impossible” at first, but later these forms of live art have become mainstream. www.todellisuus.fi

ANTI Festival collaborates with innovative artists in projects that investigate and broaden the urban space. The festival has been organized in Kuopio annually since 2002. Artists who come from all over the world perform their pieces in homes and public spaces of the city – stores, market places, businesses, forests and lakes. Spectators and different communities can become part of the art pieces in the midst of their everyday life as they participate in and experience the events. www.antifestival.com
