Welcome to participate in Sketch evening! This fall’s Sketch evenings will take place Fri 3.10. and Fri 14.11. at 6-8:30 PM.
Luonnos-illat avaavat tilan vielä muovautuvassa oleville, mahdollisesti sanallista muotoa vaille oleville esitystaiteellisille ajatuksille. Iltojen tarkoituksena on mahdollistaa taiteellisen ajattelun, harjoittelun ja kokemisen kautta tapahtuvaa vuoropuhelu. Luonnos-illat kutsuvat taiteellista työtään jakavat sekä katsojat yhteen tasa-arvoisina ja vastavuoroisina taiteellisessa prosessissa.
Sketch evenings create a space for performance concepts, thoughts and ideas that are still in the process of developing and have possibly not yet reached a verbal form. The evenings allow for dialogue through practice and experience. The aim is to give the possibility to witness different ways and modes of working, thinking, and sketching, as well as to create conversation about freshly developing artistic ideas. Everybody is invited to the space as equal and reciprocal participants in the artistic process.
Laboratorion kaltaisiin iltoihin voi ilmoittautua jakajaksi matalalla kynnyksellä, siten että pääpaino on halussa esitellä juuri versoamassa olevia teosluonnoksia tai taiteellisia ideoita. Joka kerralla työtään jakaa ja kokeilee 3 taiteilijaa. Jaetut luonnokset luovutetaan illoissa yhteisen tasavertaisen keskustelun ja työskentelyn ainekseksi. Vuoropuhelua fasilitoivat Sonjis Laine ja Emmi Max Pennanen. Ilta on suunnattu esittävän taiteen kentän ammattilaisille. Tapahtuma on yhteistyö Todellisuuden Tutkimuskeskuksen ja Tero Saarinen Companyn välillä.
You can sign up to share your work in progress in these laboratory-like events with a low threshold. Each time 3 artists will share and test their work. During the evening, the sketches in question are treated as material for practicing artistic dialogue. The conversations will be facilitated by Sonjis Laine and Emmi Max Pennanen. All art professionals are welcomed to sign up for sharing their work, or to be spectators in dialogue. The event is a collaboration between Reality Research Centre and Tero Saarinen Company.
Marraskuun Luonnos-ilta on osa Focus on the Local Landscape – Paikallisjälkiä -ohjelmaa Liikkeellä marraskuussa -festivaalin kehyksessä 6.–16.11.2025. Osana festivaalia Focus on the Local Landscape -taiteilijat käyvät yhteistä keskustelua avoimessa, Anna Kozoninan moderoimassa Soup Talks -keskustelussa sunnuntaina 16.11. klo 13 Eskuksen tiloissa.
The November Sketch evening is a part of the Focus on the Local Landscape within the frame of Moving in November 6.-16.11.2025. As part of the festival, there will be an open Soup Talks discussion with the Focus on the Local Landscape artists hosted by Anna Kozonina on Sun 16.11. of November at 1 PM in Eskus.

“Haluamme luoda uudenlaisen kollegiaalisen taiteellisten luonnosten jakamisen tilan. Koemme tanssin ja esitystaiteen ammattikentältä puuttuvan tilaa esityskonseptien tai esityksellisten praktiikoiden kokeiluille keskeneräisinä. Residenssi- ja esitysmahdollisuuksien rajallisuus sekä reunaehdot ohjaavat usein kohti tarkkaa koreografista suunnittelua jo demo-vaiheessa. Samalla katseen alla harjoittaminen ja sitä kautta esiintyjyydelle keskeisten kysymysten kehittäminen menettää kokeilun, leikin ja epäröinnin tilaa. Järjestäjinä haluamme jättää tilaa iltojen muovautumiselle ilmoittautujien näköiseksi. Emme tee sisällöllisiä tai temaattisia rajauksia omasta roolistamme käsin, vaan näemme roolimme vuoropuhelun ja keskustelun avaajina illan aikana.”
A word from the facilitators
“We want to create a new collegial space for sharing artistic sketches. We feel that the field of dance and performance lacks a space of trying out performance concepts and practices. The scarcity of residency and performance opportunities lead towards more pressured and more careful choreographic planning already in the context of demos. At the same time, practicing while being watched as well as working with performance-specific questions can lose the sense of trying out, playing and wondering. As organizers, we are not creating any limits for the artistic content of the evenings, but instead see ourselves as facilitators for collective work.”
