Tanssitaiteellinen keppihevosleiri

Are you a hobby horse enthusiast who would like to meet other hobbyists during the winter break? Are you also interested in dance and movement? Come and join us for a free hobby horse camp that combines dance art and hobby horse culture.

Leirin aikana pääset viettämään aikaa muiden keppareista kiinnostuneiden kanssa. Ehkä olet harrastanut keppareita jo pidempään – tai sitten olet vasta aiheesta kiinnostunut. Kaikki ovat yhtälailla tervetulleita mukaan. 

Viikon aikana vietämme aikaa keppareidemme kanssa leikkien, tanssien ja hoivaten. Osallistujat ja ohjaajat opettavat vuorovaikutteisesti toisilleen keppareista ja tanssista, etsien yhtymäkohtia näiden kahden maailman väliltä. Minkälaista liikettä voimme tuottaa yhdessä ammentaen hevostanssin perinteistä? Millä tavalla osallistujat pääsevät tanssin avulla tuomaan esiin omia kokemuksia ja osaamistaan keppareiden parissa?

During the camp, you will get to spend time with other people who are interested in hobby horse practices. Perhaps you have been practicing hobby horsing for a long time, or maybe you are just getting interested in the subject. Everyone is equally welcome to join.

During the week, we will spend time with our horses playing, dancing, and caring for them. Participants and instructors will interactively teach each other about horses and dance, seeking common ground between these two worlds. What kind of movement can we create together, drawing on the traditions of horse dance? How can participants use dance to express their own experiences and skills with horses?

Leiripäivien aikana jaetaan ajatuksia, kokemuksia sekä haaveita ja toiveita heppoihin ja keppareihin liittyen. Tanssiharjoitteita tehdään sekä keppareiden kanssa että ilman niitä. Pohdimme yhdessä miten kepparin kanssa voi tanssia tai miten oma liike voi saada inspiraatiota keppareista ja hevosista. Aktiviteetit kannustavat mielikuvitteluun ja luovaan ajatteluun. Halutessa pääsee tekemään myös pieniä keppari- ja hevosaiheisia askarteluja ja käsitöitä. Sään salliessa ulkoillaan!

We share thoughts, experiences, dreams, and wishes related to horses and horse riding. We do dance exercises both with and without horses. Together, we will consider how to dance with a stick horse and how our own movements can be inspired by stick horses and real horses. The activities encourage imagination and creative thinking. If desired, participants can also do small stick horse and horse-themed crafts and handicrafts. Weather permitting, we will spend time outdoors!

Debi Kuisma ja Nadja Leham ovat tanssijoita ja tanssinopettajia. He työskentelevät yhteisöllisen ja tanssitaiteellisen teosprosessin parissa, jonka keskiössä ovat heppakulttuuri ja keppihevosharrastajat. Työparia kiinnostaa, mitä voisi tarkoittaa takaisinoppia niitä liikkeitä, joita ihminen alun perin on opettanut hevoselle esimerkiksi kouluratsastuksessa. Kuismalla ja Lehamilla on vahva pedagoginen tausta ja he toivovat leirillä voivansa luoda lapsille ja nuorille tilan, jossa osallistujat voisivat olla ylpeitä harrastuksestaan sekä tutustua tanssitaiteeseen kannustavassa ympäristössä. Leirit toimivat laajemman taiteellisen projektin taustatyönä.

Debi Kuisma and Nadja Leham are dancers and dance teachers. They work on a collaborative dance art project that focuses on horse culture and hobby horsing enthusiasts. The duo is interested in what it might mean to relearn the movements that humans originally taught horses, for example in dressage. Kuisma and Leham have a strong background in education and hope that the camp will create a space for children and young people where participants can be proud of their hobby and learn about dance in an encouraging environment. The camps serve as background work for a larger artistic project.

Tanssitaiteellinen keppihevosleiri on osa Esitystaidetta kaikille-hanketta, jota tuottaa Todellisuuden tutkimuskeskus ja rahoittaa Helsingin kaupunki.
