Esittävän taiteen ryhmä Todellisuuden Tutkimuskeskus valmistaa esitystä The Other Kontula, joka toteutetaan vapaaehtoisen kontulalaisen kotona elokuussa 2022.
Etsimme nyt esitystä varten täysi-ikäistä henkilöä, joka haluaisi avata meille kotinsa ovet ja kertoa elämästään siellä. Esityksen työryhmä haastattelee valitun asunnon asukkaita kesäkuussa ja haastatteluiden pohjalta valmistetaan esitys, joka harjoitellaan ja esitetään samaisen kontulalaisen asunnossa elokuun aikana. Esitys ei ole dokumentti vaan työryhmän tulkinta. Esitys on jatkoa vuonna 2012 toteutuneelle esitykselle The Other, jonka esityspaikkana oli irakilaisen maahanmuuttajan yksiö Vallilassa.

Milloin tarvitsemme asuntoa?
Tapaamme vapaaehtoisen hänen kotonaan haastatteluita varten 3.6., 13.6. ja 17.6. klo 16 jälkeen.
Harjoituksia ja esityksiä varten tarvitsemme asuntoa 9.8.-20.8. välillä yhdessä sovitun aikataulun mukaan. Osa harjoituksista voi olla myös iltaisin.
Maksamme asunnon käytöstä pienen korvauksen. Asunnossa ei voi oleskella elokuun harjoitusten ja esitysten aikana.

Todellisuuden Tutkimuskeskus (TTK) on Helsingistä käsin toimiva, esitystaiteellisten seikkailijoiden kollektiivi. TTK toteuttaa esityksiä, työpajoja ja muita tutkimusmatkoja todellisuuteen Kontulan alueella osana Helsingin mallia vuosina 2022-2024.

Would you like to open your doors to performers and audience?
Live art collective Reality Research Center is looking for a Kontula-based volunteer who would like to open their doors and hearts for us. We’re producing a performance The Other Kontula which will premiere in August 2022. The working group will interview the chosen inhabitant in June and the interviews will form a base for a performance that will be practiced and performed in the volunteer’s home during August. The performance is not a documentary but a working group’s interpretation. The performance is a continuation of The Other which took place at the home of an Iraqi immigrant in Vallila in 2012.
If you’re interested, please send an email to our producer Anna anna@todellisuus.fi by Sunday 22.5.2022 Tell us a little bit about yourself and what caught your interest in the performance. If several people get interested we will choose the most suitable person for the performance.
When do we need the apartment?
We will meet the chosen volunteer at their home for the interviews 3.6., 13.6. and 17.6. after 4pm.
We will need the apartment for the rehearsals and performances during 9.8.-20.8. according to an agreed timetable. Some of the rehearsals will be held after 4pm.
We will pay a small fee for using the apartment. The residents can’t be at the apartment during the rehearsals and performances in August.
Who we are?
The performance’s working group consists of Reality Research Center’s artists and people living in the Kontula neighborhood. If you would like to join the performance as a performer please contact Anna anna@todellisuus.fi.
Reality Research Center is a Helsinki-based collective of artists engaged in performative adventures. RRC will arrange performances, workshops and other explorations into the reality in the Kontula neighborhood as part of the Helsinki Model during 2022-2024.
