Talking in the Rain: An Entertaining Show About the Weather on projekti ja esitys säästä ja ilmastosta. Esityksen koollekutsujat ja taiteelliset vastaavat ovat Maria Oiva (TTK) ja Kristina Junttila (Ferske Scener). Esitykset toteutetaan Marraskuussa 2020 Liikkeellä Marraskuussa -festivaalilla.
Meillä kaikilla on väistämätön, jokapäiväinen suhde säähän. Samaan aikaan valikoimme hyvinkin tietoisesti, miten suhtaudumme ilmastoon. Talking in the Rain: An Entertaining Show About the Weather lähestyy säähän ja ilmastoon liittyviä kysymyksiä kehollisuuden kautta.
Kyseessä on etänä tapahtuva esitys, jossa sää menee ihon alle. Teoksessa löydämme yhdessä tapoja olla kehollisia ja luoda jaettuja tiloja, vaikka emme ikinä tapaakaan fyysisesti samassa paikassa. Esitys tapahtuu puhelimessasi, ympärilläsi, henkilökohtaisessa postipaketissa sekä yhteisessä virtuaalisessa tilassa, jossa märät jalat, musta hiili ja voimakas tuuli keskeyttävät hyvänmielen talk shown. Esitys haluaa saada yleisön tuntemaan sen, mitä ihmiset kokevat, kun he puhuvat säästä ja ilmastonmuutoksesta.
Keskustelun ja ajattelemisen lisäksi tavoitteena on ymmärtää kehollisesti, mitä tapahtuu, kun puhumme säästä ja ilmastonmuutoksesta. Kun mieli ja keho sekä taide ja tutkimus yhdistetään, tulee keskiöön kokemus säästä.
Kuinka sää kehollistuu, kuinka kehollistaa statistiikkaa?
Talking in the Rain: An Entertaining Show About the Weather on kolmen toimijan yhteistyöprojekti. Kumppanit ovat Todellisuuden tutkimuskeskus (FI), Ferske Scener (NO) ja Vestlandsforskning / Western Norway Research Institute (NO).

- Esitys on pääosin englanninkielinen.

Talking in the Rain: An Entertaining Show About the Weather is a project and performance about weather and climate. The conveners and artistic leaders of the project are Maria Oiva (Reality Research Center) and Kristina Junttila (Ferske Scener). The performances will take place at the Moving in November Festival in Helsinki, Finland, in November 2020.
We all have an inescapable, mundane relationship with the weather. In contrast, we tend to consciously choose how to relate to climate and climate change. Talking in the Rain: An Entertaining Show About the Weather approaches questions relating to the weather and climate through embodiment.
The show is a distant performance where the weather will get under your skin. We will find ways of being physical and creating common spaces, even though we will never meet physically in the same space. The performance will take place on your phone, in your surroundings, in a personal postal package sent to you and in a common virtual space, where the feel-good format of a talk show is disturbed by wet feet, black coal and strong wind.
In addition to processing the topic through dialogue and thinking, we want to understand what happens in our bodies when we talk about the weather and climate change. By combining the mind and the body with art and research, the artists will focus our attention to the experience of the weather.
